It is not uncommon for residents in Ohio and elsewhere in the nation to follow the lives of celebrities. The media will often showcase their personal life, allowing the general public to get a glimpse of his or her relationships. This often includes marriage as well as break ups and divorce. A celebrity divorce, while attractive to tabloids and other media sources, could be a very complex matter due to the marital assets involved and the difficulties being in the public eye could add to the situation.
The high asset dissolution of actor Richard Gere is still ongoing. Gere and his estranged wife were recently back in court, and reports indicate that the two are still fighting over money involved in their 11 year marriage. The details of the divorce issues have not been made public at this time, but it was confirmed that they divorce process is moving along and their disputes are all about money.
Reportedly, the two are working out the details concerning Gere’s estimated $250 million fortune. Sources indicate that Gere’s estranged wife wanted to stay married and work through things, but after Gere decided to move forward with dissolution, she supposedly decided to take him to the cleaners. The couple has one child, a 15-year-old son named Homer. The two have been able to reach an agreement on their son and a child custody arrangement has been settled.
A high asset divorce can be a complicated matter involving complex property division issues and disputes. It might take more time to divide marital assets, and spouses should understand various ways and methods they could resolve their legal divorce issues and reach a final divorce agreement.
