Chris Rock, Estranged Wife in Child Custody Dispute

When children are involved in the divorce process, it could mean a complex dissolution is in the offing. Married couples in Ohio understand the complications deciding a child custody arrangement can bring to the situation. Moreover, when it comes to divorce, child custody disputes tend to be highlighted, making an already difficult situation more challenging. No matter who the parents are or how many children are involved, the best interests of a child should always be the focal point of a custody agreement and should not be used as a way to get back at an ex-spouse.

It was recently reported that Chris Rock alleged that his estranged wife was seeking to punish him for divorcing her by keeping their children away from him. Rock has complained that his ex has been preventing him from seeking their 2-year-old daughter. He is also asking for shared legal and physical custody for their 12-year-old and 10-year-old as well.

While other matters regarding finances, their prenuptial agreement, property division and spousal support are for the most part addressed and figured out, child custody issues still remain a point of contention in their dissolution after an 18-year marriage.

When parents divorce, parenting time is often difficult to agree on. In these matters, parents may consider different methods to address these issues such as mediation or collaborative divorce. No matter what options are utilized in the process, it is always crucial to reach a child custody agreement that focuses on and protects the best interests of the child or children.
